There are multiple levels of membership within the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department. If you are interested in becoming a member please join us at our weekly Tuesday night meeting at 6:30pm to learn more about the department, membership, and the application process.
Our Cadet Program is geared to those of 14 to 17 years of age who are interested in the fire service. Cadets are non-voting members and are encouraged to attend corporate meetings. Cadets will shadow the Emergency Responders and be involved with training and responses with restrictions. Upon turning 18 the Cadet may apply for Corporate Membership.
Corporate members must be 18 years or older and accepted with a majority vote into the corporation. They are voting members after three business meetings and are required to attend at least three business meetings a year (first Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm). Members are encouraged to be involved in a variety of committees and assist in fund-raising for the department.
Emergency Responders must be 18 years or older and voted on as Corporate Members. Corporate Members interested in becoming a responder must pass a technical test. Emergency Responders are responsible for complying with our General Operating Procedures (GOP's) and are expected to attend scheduled training sessions.
